Indeed life has been is the inspiration for story-telling since the beginning of time.   My book is based on a true story and my other storylines are either thoughts or little experiences I’ve had and then imagined what more dramatic/alternative outcomes there are.    Its all endless.   Just finished washing all my floors on  my hands & knees because my mop broke  & I’m exhausted but I’ll try to get to my other storylines tonight or the next!

not much time here to write out the full concept…here’s a rough outline

Basic Concept:  The year is 2025, scientists discover a cluster of meteorites that are closing in on earth and a slow but steady pace.  Over days they monitor as this large cluster comes closer & closer to our planet.   As the cluster approaches there is no public panic as the scientific community has kept this quiet to avoid any panic.  The scientific community is bracing for some sort of massive impact or scattering, but they find the closer the cluster gets to earth it’s slows down.  As the scientific community becomes a little more at ease, but as this happens they ( and the rest of earth) begin to notice slight power disruptions.  Over days the slight power disruptions are not a concern to any of the public, but the scientific community knows that there is something more going on and they come to the conclusion that the massive cluster must be made of a magnetic material of  sorts.  Suddenly everything goes dark….everywhere…..across the earth (oh this is winter/afternoon by the way).  Most people in the evening time zone (where our story is centered on..N.America) do not notice as they are asleep.  However people around the globe are now trying all their switches etc…   Morning comes for our characters and no alarms, no hot water, no radio, no TV, cars do not work, cell phones, banks, systems, transportation networks etc… do not work.  Anything requiring electricity and anything mechanical does not work.

The gist is that across the globe we go back in time in sorts, over weeks, months, years, decades all ‘unplugged’  people have to re-learn how things are done ans live with out the extremely modern conveniences of the world in 2025.  (This is highly developed and half the story) Decades pass and the scientists are still tracking this cluster in the most primitive of astrological techniques still over time.    suddenly the main scientist character tracks that the cluster has moved. (all characters are fulled developed: love story, betrayal, endurance…etc…need more time in my day!) Then after 25 years the cluster moves away from earth and the globe comes to terms of a world of convenience that is new for anyone under 25 and has to be relearnt for anyone over 25 and the discovery and learning happens all over again.  Some embrace it others loathe it and remember all the quality in time and life they had over the past 25 years.

Baby is asleep, mamas got time to blog!  OK maybe only 30mins..let’s see if I can get the rough outline of my concept down in under 30mins! 

A side note I’m still finding it SO very difficult to find time to get past chapter 1 in the ‘ol romance novel/script….I’ll have to post an excerpt soon!

My contacts are dry and the dishes need washing so I’ll have to get to my other ideas another day..hopefully tomorrow.

…ohhhh if I don’t get these down soon I’ll forget them!  I think of all the concepts and details and as soon as they come they are gone again so I hope I can get to typing some of these up tomorrow or soon!

(could also be a movie but I think the many options in storyline would support a television series) 

Basic Concept:  A small spot in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California far removed from the glitz of Hollywood. becomes a new hotspot retreat for the movers & shakers of Tinseltown.   Only people currently living there is a father and son who are…simple folk, back to nature, no television, hippies (but not too stereotypical), they are too honest and naive for their own good.  The area becomes well known by the who’s who of Hollywood as ’the place’ to resurrect ones career due to one of the worlds biggest stars spending twenty weeks camped up there on a ‘spiritual trip’ hoping to resurrect his sinking career (this is all very tongue & cheek so it would be the least of all spiritual trips…..tent hooked up with all the latest mod-cons and electricity brought in…”glamping” if you will).  He, being the worlds biggest star and after his time spent there has more success than he had ever experienced before & believed it is due to the combination of altitude, polar coordinates being his lotto numbers, fresh air, etc…etc… he buys up the land builds several mansions decides to market this as ‘the place’ to go & get your career groove back.  So the rich has-beens & washed up stars of Hollywood move on in.   Still all the while there is the simple father & son who lived reclusive for so long are all of a sudden surrounded by the most out-there, extravagant, dripping wealthy, over-the-top, narcissistic and desperate people in Hollywood:  The 80 year old star & his wife: He was once the biggest name in the business, now he’s not getting any roles, he doesn’t realize it is because he’s lost most his memory and mind.  His wife being even more worse off than him.  The single starlet: The hottest in Hollywood and with a very successful career but after her first negative review for an otherwise highly praised performance, she ‘s convinced she’s washed up.  A glamorous ditz.  The handsome and talented director: His career is washed up because of making films only for his ex-wife who was an aspiring actor and beyond horrible, no one will work with him now so he moves to the ‘retreat’ to get over his broken heart and in hopes to get his career back on track.   The sleazebag short chunky actor who is convinced that he’s ‘the shit’ and everyone wants to work with him, but that his agent is just being extra selective because of the large amount of good offers coming his way.  Little does he know his agent is keeping him in the dark about his dismal career and telling him that he is going to this ‘retreat’ as research for his next role.  The whole time he is there he is convinced that he’s the biggest star in Hollywood.  The washed up childhood actor: Now well into his 40′s and has not had a role since 13 years old, except for cereal, tire & lube and public service announcement commercials, he’s desperate to be in the business and have a career again.  The innocent cousin of the son (of the simple father & son duo).   She’s pretty and good-hearted and knows nothing of these stars and their way of life.  The 60 year old former siren obsessed with youth and convinced she can still play roles for characters half her age, throwing herself at any man, any age. 

So they all move in to this little community as neighbors, isolated from the world and let the character magic as they interact begin… 

That’s just the basic premise, there will be visitors (locals & stars) there will be loves and losses and all hilarious! 

As I think this over this could also be a great comedy movie… so I’ll post this under movies as well!

Ok this is my first ever blog and I am amazed that I might even find one person out there that wants to read what little ol me (babbling missy brooke) is writing….but here it goes!

In this blog I will record all my ideas/drafts/concepts for movies/books and TV shows!  I am currently writing a book/film script with my husband on the true story of how my in-laws met and fell in love (an incredible story that takes place in the Azores, Portugal, Paris and Bermuda and the way they fell in love & married despite the distances, countries, other loves, a stint in the army in Africa and never meeting each other face to face until a week before their wedding!)   But enough of that, that project is still on chapter 1 on my computer although the storyline is almost half way there… As this is my first attempt at writing a proper novel it takes me time….plenty of time.  I have a mind full of ideas of lives, of stories of personal journeys.  There have been moments in my own life and travels that warrant a few movies on their own (my job as a dog walker for the swiss mob for one). 

I am babbling missy brooke afterall so the way I write is to babble out my thoughts with just about zero editing to get as much detail and ideas out then later go back to do major editing and rewrite it as I want it to read.  This blog will be the babbling portion! 

So this blog here is to record all the many OTHER ideas that come to me in the meantime, ideas for movies/books or TV shows!

Mother and wife first…International Woman of Mystery second. I have lived in all corners of the world before I settled down to marry and have my beautiful little baby (7 months & growing fast).  I have lived in many different places:  growing up in the Canadian Rockies, living in Toronto, Quebec, Australia, England, Japan, Germany, California and Czech Republic to name a few and travelled to dozens more countries throughout Europe and Asia and across both the USA and Canada.  Sometimes I would arrive in a country with 50 bucks to my name other times with minus -$5000 and did it all in the name of adventure, discovery and taking in as much as possibly with the widest of eyes.  Now that I am a mother and a wife I am unable to take off on a whim to live some life in some land (if it were up to me I would go discover Slovenia for a year….) Now in my early 30′s I sit at home and day to day my mind is filled with memories of the 10 years I spent bouncing around the planet: All that I have seen & done and absorbed.  

In my life and in my imagination I have inspiration and ideas running out of me….

Why Babbling Missy Brooke?  Because my thoughts come out in babbles in endless streams and in rivers… I must dam them all, go back and turn into literature, perfectly descriptive thoughts, well thought-out ideas and story lines….SORRY this blog is for the babbling part not latter…a running blog of ideas ideas ideas! 

Why record all this in a blog?  Part not wanting to forget my ideas & record them somewhere (my hand cramps up after 30 mins of writing so web it is!) Part hoping that someone finds me here & likes one of my ideas (no stealing of ideas please….since this is a blog I trust that my ideas are recorded). Part spending my days & evenings (hubby works crappy shift) alone with a little 7 month old this is as close to adult conversation that I get!
